About Tokyo Fox (東京狐)

Tokyo Fox is the pseudonym used by a freelance journalist and Leicester City FC fan living and working in Tokyo as an English teacher. When he first came to Japan many years ago he wondered why so many Japanese students kept asking him what his hobbies were. It’s an important question here but Tokyo Fox didn’t think he had any hobbies as one can’t include such normal activities like listening to music and watching TV. However, many years later he now has a few hobbies such as cycling, running, travelling, hunting down movie locations, kit-kat flavours and even blogging itself!

Anyway, don’t waste your time on this dull page. Move on and take a look at the many articles I’ve written over the years. Hope you can find what you’re looking for. Enjoy.

Don’t know where to start? Maybe start with this interview I did about the site.

Good to see you move away from the msn blog

    Hey Glen,

As always, great to see pictures of, and read about, your adventures. I loved the John Rain books.

I tried to register for your blog but the link goes to the WordPress registration. Need to fix that at up and change the about text. Let me know if you need a hand with that stuff.

I never look at FaceBook, hate it actually, but every time M sees you have posted something she tells me. Keep it up (to be read in the way I mean it as well as the way I am 100% certain you would interpret it).

Thanks very much for your kind words again Nathan. I have no idea about registering with this site. do you mean subscribing to it so you get updates? I don’t know what you were referring to so any help with that would be appreciated.
I always do my best to keep it up!!

Yes sir, I’d like to subscribe to the site. If you look to the right there is a section called “Meta” with a link for “Register” and one for “Log in” but they are both targeting WordPress rather than TokyoFox. They will let me create my own blog.

I expect the setting is in your admin area, although the Meta area occasionally can be hard to work with. I’ve run a few sites with WordPress but always with privately owned domains so I am not sure about the exact location in the admin area. The WordPress Codex or Forums should have an answer.

Also, not to be too demanding, but this about page is the generic sample… change the text in the admin area under Pages.

Good work with the site so far. Keep banging away. (Yeah, yeah…)

Never even noticed this page before Nathan!

I hope you don’t mind, but I linked to your page of photos of Great Bowden as I was writing about some of my ancestors who came from there (and Little Bowden). Never been there myself, so it was good to see what the place looks like – quite different from what it was in the 18th century, i think!

    • tokyofox says:

Yeah no problem Catterel. Nice to hear that someone has got some use out of that post! Wishing you all the best with your research. Hope you can find what you’re looking for! I need to return to Great Bowden! It’s been too long!

You probably didn’t see the whole movie. I saw it on HBO years before there were DVD’s. I noticed when I watched the DVD I have that Sonny China’s action scenes had been edited, and much was missing.
Mako speaking English was explained, if you were paying attention.

    • tokyofox says:

I can only guess you’re talking about Bushido Blade as you’ve posted your comment rather randomly on a different page. Did not know that information about the DVD being edited so thanks very much for informing me of that. Appreciated. I watched that movie a long, long time ago so can’t remember anything about it or what I wrote about it!
