Manic Street Preachers & Suede Roll Back The Years With Co-Headline Dates In Tokyo

Just over 24 years ago the V99 music festival in the UK was headlined by Suede and Manic Street Preachers. It is still one of the best line-ups I’ve ever seen and was a very memorable weekend for me in Staffordshire which co-hosted the occasion. Fast forward nearly quarter of a century and both of those bands are still going but the landscape of music has changed a fair bit.

Seasons one and two (as well as the prequel season zero) of alphabet dating certainly pushed the boundaries of what a “date” is, and that continues in season three with even more tenuous examples for each letter of the alphabet. For the record, doing something together (no matter what it is!) counts as a date in this series which is not always about visiting glamorous places and doing exciting things but just getting out there and exploring locations we wouldn’t normally go to. A Double Dose Of Water Sports Action At Tokyo Aquatics Centre

The delayed Tokyo 2020 Olympics took place in 2021 across 43 venues; 8 new permanent ones, 25 previously existing facilities and 10 temporary places. Some of the new constructions included Japan National Stadium, Musashino Forest Sports Plaza, Oi Hockey Stadium, Ariake Arena and Tokyo Aquatic Centre. Due to the pandemic very few people actually got to step foot inside these places though. Just over two years later and I finally went to the latter. Twice!

The search for new sports this year has unearthed some interesting experiences which are largely unknown by people closely associated with that particular sport. November 3rd is being marketed as Godzilla Day by Toho as it’s the 69th anniversary of the original films release. Riding On Japan’s Most Futuristic Luxury Liner

There may have been a fair amount of train-related posts on Tokyo Fox in the last few years (stations, dangle-trains, railway cafes, Metro challenges etc) but when it comes to actual trains I know very little. I wasn’t even aware of this futuristic luxury liner until my wife said that she wanted to ride on it. Within a couple of weeks a plan had been made to ride on it with our ever-faithful dog joining us too for a rare outing (for him!) beyond the borders of Tokyo.

Very Few Parks Will Tricera-Top This One In Tokyo!

Not long after compiling last years top 10 list of must-see dinosaur-related places in Japan I then found out about another park in Tokyo with some dinosaurs in it. Not only that but it was just a short distance from the temple guarded by a pre-historic creature.
