Interesting Japanese Playground Structures #1 – Camel Slide

Many of the parks and children’s playgrounds in Japan, particularly in Tokyo, are quite poor compared to other countries in terms of space, surroundings and a lack of grass. However, a handful of them do tend to possess extremely creative structures and they will be explored in this series.

Nickname: The Camel Slide

Location: 5-41-1 Arakawa, Arakawa-ku

Nearest Station(s):

Machiya (6 minutes on foot) on the Keisei Main Line or the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line.

Shim-Mikawashima (7 minutes on foot) on the Keisei Main Line

    

Disclaimer: Playgrounds are of course intended as fun and safe places for children to enjoy themselves so Tokyo Fox can not stress enough the importance of being considerate and cautious in such places.

    I love Japanese playgrounds, they are so much fun. I love the way they come up with all kinds of animals. My favourite ones include an octopus 🐙 slide and a dinosaur park.

    Those octopus ones are quite common. I have the one from Ebisu waiting to go on here and that dinosaur one too. I saw on one of your posts recently that you went to that one!
