So 2022 has only just begun and already Tokyo Fox is looking back!! For a decade now there have been exactly ten new posts on here each and every month and these are the twenty from 2021 which got the most hits…excluding sponsored or TF Top 10 list posts! Of course those entries from earlier in the year had more time to accumulate hits so don’t read too much into it all as it’s basically just another filler post to kick start the new year!
20. Dining Out: The Happy Rainbow Cheese Ramen Which Puts A Smile On Your Face!. More details here
19. Dining Out: Slurping Away At One Of The World’s Cheapest Michelin Starred Restaurants! More details here

16. The Station Just Over The Border From Tokyo Which You Can’t Exit (Unless You Work For Toshiba) More details here
15. The Ewoks Cartoon Challenge Part 2 – Binge Watching Season 2 In One Day! More details here
14. London Filming Locations: Fast And Furious 6 (2013) More details here
13. A New Vivid Purple Godzilla Drink Is Here & Ready To Rip Up The Energy Drink Market. More details here
12. Free Pop-Up 007 Exhibition In Tokyo To Accompany The Release Of ‘No Time To Die’ More details here
11. Dining Out: The Buffet Which Is Completely Free To Everyone. More details here
10. Interesting Japanese Playground Structures #31 – Mushroom Park – The playground blogs really are easy-to-do filler yet they are unbelievably some of the more popular posts. This was the most successful of the half a dozen playgrounds featured in 2021. More details here
9. This Is The Star Wars Pop-Up Shop In Tokyo I Was Looking For – Posts relating to Star Wars are certainly a little random given that Japanese content is the main focus of this site. I want to write about what I want though rather than pandering to the masses. Fact is though that the Star Wars content always does well in terms of hits! More details here
8. One Of The Most Mystical And Picturesque Power Spots In Japan – Torii gates conjure up typical images of Japan for many and nowhere was that more apparent than this place down in the southern part of Izu. It’s an awe-inspiring sight. More details here
7. What It’s Like To Be A Spectator At The Tokyo 2020 Olympics – No surprise really that this was in here as I was one of very few people who got to see some live Olympic action. My interviews before and after on BBC Radio helped promote it too! More details here
6. Two Great Spots For Capturing The Classic Bullet Train & Mount Fuji Shot! – Attempting to get such classic shots of two Japanese icons takes a bit of effort and thankfully I was rewarded for that with some good shots, a nice video and a fair few hits too! More details here
5. No Staff. No Scanning. It’s The A.I. Convenience Store In Tokyo – My view of Japan is a country that is in many ways behind the times compared to the western world but there are always a few exceptions, and such shops are one such case. More details here
4. Dark Tourist (Japan Special) Vol. 03 – There’s always a surprise or two in these lists and for me this post, featuring places in Hiroshima, Gunma, Shizuoka, Hyogo and Tokyo, is the big one. I guess it is a kind of a compilation post but technically it’s not a top 10 one so it’s been allowed in this list! More details here
3. Chillaxing At This Capybara Cafe Just Outside Of Tokyo – Pet cafes have been something of a Japanese phenomenon in recent years whether for good or bad. This was one of the more unique ones and we left feeling a lot better than had been the case at others. More details here
2. Tokyo Filming Locations #20 – The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) – Movie locations used to be the bread and butter of this site back in the glory days of bigger hits on Tokyo Fox! There were only two such posts in 2021, and both were from the same franchise, but it was the long awaited Tokyo Drift locales which fared better. More details here
1. Get Up Close With A Nakagin Capsule Tower Block Prototype At This Museum Just North Of Tokyo – This famous tower was due to be demolished in 2021 so there was a thirst for things relating to the building, particularly from overseas, and this piece offered a slightly different angle to all the other ones about going inside one of the capsules.
